Empower an Entrepreneur Today!

Transformational Ventures will offer entrepreneurial training at Redeemed Gospel Church in Embakasi, Nairobi from July 3rd-9th. This training is for current and prospective business owners, as well as for leaders who will be equipped to be business trainers throughout East Africa. Melissa Schaap will be in Kenya from June 27 to July 14, and a team of 10 from Colorado to Texas to Connecticut will join her to facilitate this training alongside Kenyan leaders. Follow us on Facebook!

This week-long training, in partnership with Yobel International, will empower Kenyans, Ethiopians and Ugandans to develop or grow small businesses that will help them provide for their families. The cost to train each person (materials, facilitation, food, lodging, transportation, etc) is about $250, and we are looking for financial partners of any amount.
For more information about the curriculum, visit www.yobelinternational.org.

Get Connected!
Add your piece to the puzzle!

If you donate $100 or more, we will introduce you to one of the entrepreneurs so that you can pray for him or her by name and (when technology allows) communicate via Facebook.

Our goal is to train at least 35 entrepreneurs and business trainers. We would love to have each one of them being prayed for by name!

To give, please go to worldventure.com/empoweranentrepreneur.

If you want to encourage and empower an entrepreneur, please email Berkely, and she will get you connected!

The Jibu Water Franchisemany of you helped us launch is up and running! This water franchise business opened in Nairobi last November! Jibu is now six months old, employs five people, has multiple micro franchises, and is gaining traction with their water sales. Through this partnership with YOU, Jibu, Chombox, Northside Church, and Redeemed Gospel Church, we are bringing affordable clean water, job opportunities, and a sustainable revenue stream. You have poured out your love in a tangible way to this community with this innovative social enterprise answer to the water crisis and we are truly grateful. Read more about Jibu Kenya hereor on pages 34-38 of the most recent WorldVenture Magazine.
In February, a small T-Ventures team from Denver had the privilege of visiting Jenny Nuccio who is on the WorldVenture team in Mombasa. Jenny is the founder and director of international affairs atImaniXchange (IXC), a women’s empowerment program that provides training and job opportunities for single, widowed, disabled and disadvantaged women. Through IXC, Jenny and her Kenyan leadership team point people to Jesus and equip women to build a better future and defeat poverty. Our team of 10 has the opportunity to visit Mombasa again this July! If you have any leads for wholesale or custom orders (women’s retreats, conferences, schools, etc.), please contact Melissa. To see the transformation that is happening through IXC, check out their short video here and shop their product line here!
Chombox is yet another example of how the Lord is connecting all the pieces! Chombox is a BAM business recently established in Kenya by Melissa’s husband, Shane, and his business partner Alan Ruth. Chombox equips emerging entrepreneurs to launch and manage sustainable businesses within their communities.  They transform containers into opportunities of empowerment. Chombox’s first successful build was the water depot for the Jibu franchise on Redeemed’s campus. They are now working on their next projects, including a new sewing workshop, a training center, and guest houses for IXC near Mombasa, all made out of repurposed shipping containers.

Our Creator and Refiner draws us closer to himself while he smooths out our “rough edges,” shaping our hearts to be more like His and showing us again and again how everything works together for our good and for His Glory!

“Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water from the wells of salvation. And as you do it, you’ll say, “Give thanks to God. Call out his name. Ask him anything! Shout to the nations, tell them what he’s done, spread the news of his great reputation!”
Isaiah 12:4 (The Message)

Thank you again for all of the ways that you are connecting with us as we join in God’s masterpiece in Kenya and around the world!
