We partner closely with a like-minded import/export company we helped launch.  With it, we create jobs by developing and importing products made by impoverished families around the world.  We also help develop their business skills as suppliers. 

Through WorldVenture's networks of churches and their business people, our partner is developing sales channels in the United States, with plans to expand to Asian and European markets.

This strategy can directly create and sustain jobs in communities where jobs are desperately needed and where local churches and NGOs are engaging in various kinds of spiritual and community outreach.  For example, we sell knitted items made by ex-prostitutes in Bolivia. We sell jewelry made by war and AIDS widows in Uganda, purses by rural poor women in the Philippines, and so on.

We put a lot of energy into helping the artisans learn the business skills that allow them to turn their craft into a sustainable business, enabling them to sell to others, as well as to us.  Our commitment to developing the producers puts our business model under significant stress. It is hard to run a smooth, profitable import company while training the suppliers. 

We need volunteers to help create reliable product sourcing.  We need people who understand business to "adopt" a group of producers and help them become competitive.

We need a team of sales reps -- self-starters wired for sales, willing to make a part time committment, wanting to make a modest income, and eager to transform lives in poor communities.

We also need volunteers in the following:  a COO and other senior leadership, inventory control, building/training sales teams, marketing strategy, production of marketing collateral, legal counsel, and more.
